Who we are and what we do.
The Gospel Choir at Lancaster University is a relatively new society, started in 2001 with only a handful of enthusiastic singers. Since then, it has risen spectacularly, gaining official LUSU society status in 2003 and reaching a membership of about 50 students to date. They have had a number of succesful concerts, including performances for One World Week, the Chaplaincy Centre's Christmas Concert, the African Caribbean Society's Unity Festival, a Tsunami Fundraiser in the Sugarhouse and their own full concert at the end of the year. After gaining their own electric piano thanks to a LUSU society grant, they now hope to be able to travel to competitions and festivals all over the country. The future is wide open for the gospel choir at this stage.

The choir currently meets from 6-8pm on a Wednesday evening, in the Anglican Chapel of the Chaplaincy Centre on the Lancaster University campus, with an average membership of about 50 singers.

For more information, contact gospel-choir@lancaster.ac.uk (we aim to check email daily), or just turn up and see for yourself! If you would like to be put on a mailing list to be kept updated with the goings on of the choir please email the previous address and we'll kept you posted!

The society accepts both students and non-students, all you need to join is £2 and a LUSU 'Purple Card' or a 'non-student' membership card. University of Cumbria students are also more than welcome but unfortunatly will have to apply for the non student card as we cannot accept University of Cumbria purple cards!. We also operate a 'try before you buy' policy -- feel free to come along and try it before signing up. People of any ability or faith are always welcome... no auditions, no pressure, just fun!

Missed us at the start of the year? No worries, it's never too late to join!
