2nd January 2006 - Kate O'Riordan and Joan Haran were interviewed on a special edition of BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour which looked at the role of women, both real and fictional, in space. Along with film critic and novelist Kim Newman, they discussed the representation of birth and reproduction in science fiction with presenter Jenni Murray. 29th November - 2nd December 2005 - Professor Jenny Kitzinger is giving the keynote address entitled Biotechnology Talk and the Mass Media at the 'Talking Biotechnology' conference in New Zealand this autumn.

November 2005 - Dr Joan Haran and Dr Kate O’Riordan are involved in delivering the Genomics Forum course 'Genes, Genomics and Genetics: The Social Perspective' in November.
