Conference Speakers from 2005The psychologists who staff the Psychology in Education programme at Lancaster University will present and discuss their research. Professor Colin RogersColin Rogers is the Professor in Social Psychology in Education and Director of the undergraduate Psychology in Education programme, recently accredited by the British Psychological Society. Research interests include motivational processes in educational contexts. Dr Julie-Ann SimeJulie-Ann Sime is a Lecturer who researches the use of simulations in advanced training systems. Her focus is on instructional design and providing support for learners during self-directed study. Dr Jo WarinJo Warin is a Lecturer with interests in the role of gender within the formation of identities. Before becoming a psychologist, she was a secondary school teacher of Drama and English, and an actor/teacher in Theatre in Education Companies. Dr Carolyn JacksonCarolyn Jackson is a Lecturer whose research interests include motivation, self-esteem and the ways in which learner identities shape, and are shaped by, gender identities. Dr Yvette SolomonYvette Solomon is a Senior Lecturer who specializes in classroom construction of knowledge (especially mathematics knowledge), adolescents and their families, and adolescent disaffection. Dr Catherine FritzCatherine Fritz is a Lecturer who studies memory and learning. Her research interests include how to effectively use testing and feedback to promote both learning and learning to learn. |
