The language of publication is usually English, and translations should be supplied for quotations from all other languages, including French and Latin.

Articles may be sent as e-mail attachments, preferably in a recent version of ‘Word’. E-mail to: m.twycross@lancaster.ac.uk

Contributions are not normally returned to the sender.

Any photographs or other illustrations should be accompanied, where appropriate, by a copy of the written permission to reproduce from the private individual, library, or other organisation holding the copyright. Payment of copyright fees is the responsibility of the contributor.
Reproduction is usually in black and white, though colour is occasionally possible. Contributors should check that coloured prints and slides will reproduce well in black and white: a good test is to Xerox them. Images should be well-focussed and sharp.
